Clean Sweep of Rox Extends NL West Lead for Dodgers

With only a couple of weeks remaining in the regular season, the NL West race will come down to the most consistent club down the stretch. For the Dodgers, consistency has been tough to maintain through a season marked by injuries and underperformance. But just in time for October, the defending champs are piecing things together for another deep postseason run.

The return of Max Muncy, Tommy Edman, Michael Kopech, and Alex Vesia from the injured list has rebalanced the roster, making this group resemble the team that lifted the trophy last year. And over the past week, they’ve reminded the league of their dominance.

Snell Keeps the Streak Alive

Heading into Wednesday night, Dodgers starters had logged five consecutive quality starts, including two near no-hitters. Blake Snell made it six in a row, carving through the Rockies with six scoreless innings, just two hits allowed, and a season-high 11 strikeouts.

“It’s been fun,” Snell said with a smile when asked about the rotation’s hot streak. “It’s been crazy when you got guys throwing no-nos. To get us going in the right direction is big. A huge home series sweep for us.”

The bullpen kept the shutout intact, tacking on three more scoreless innings to blank Colorado.

Offense Finds Its Groove

The bats were just as lively. Los Angeles put up four runs in the second inning, with contributions from Andy Pages, Kiké Hernández, Shohei Ohtani, and Mookie Betts. Betts later blew the game open with an eighth-inning grand slam, the seventh of his career, while Teoscar Hernández added a solo homer to cap a 9–0 rout.

“It’s nice because you feel like you’re in every game,” manager Dave Roberts said. “The offense is finally starting to come together, which certainly changes things a lot. It’s huge for us.”

Dodgers Back on Top

The sweep extended the Dodgers’ winning streak to four games and stretched their NL West lead to three over the Padres. With momentum building and reinforcements healthy, Los Angeles is rounding into October form at just the right time.
