Brewing Trouble: Dodgers Take Commanding 3–0 Lead in NLCS

The Los Angeles Dodgers could not have picked a better time to find their rhythm — and it’s arriving right on cue in October. After taking Games 1 and 2 of the NLCS on the road behind historic pitching performances from Blake Snell and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, the Dodgers returned home to Los Angeles eyeing a 3–0 series lead over the Milwaukee Brewers. To start Game 3, LA turned to hometown product Tyler Glasnow, who missed last year’s World Series run due to injury.

Glasnow Sets the Tone

The Dodgers struck first in the opening inning, as Shohei Ohtani’s leadoff triple came around to score on an RBI double from Mookie Betts, giving Los Angeles an early 1–0 lead. The Brewers answered back quickly in the second when Jake Bauers tied the game with an RBI single.

Despite the early run allowed, Glasnow settled into a groove, striking out eight Milwaukee hitters and allowing just one run over 5 ⅔ innings.

“I think my rhythm was a little off to start,” Glasnow admitted after the game. “I relied on my sinker to help me get back in the zone, and I was able to get ahead with it.”

His outing continued the Dodgers’ streak of dominant starting pitching this postseason, keeping the game tied late into Game 3.

Dodgers Break Through

The Dodgers’ offense finally broke the deadlock in the s ixth inning. Tommy Edman delivered a clutch RBI single off Milwaukee flamethrower Jacob Misiorowski, putting Los Angeles ahead 2–1. Moments later, a throwing error by reliever Abner Uribe on a pickoff attempt allowed Freddie Freeman to score, extending the lead to 3–1.That was all the Dodgers would need, as the bullpen took over from there.

Bullpen Closes the Door

Despite struggling late in the regular season, the Dodgers’ bullpen was flawless on Thursday night. Scoreless innings from Alex Vesia, Blake Treinen, Anthony Banda, and Roki Sasaki sealed the win and pushed Los Angeles to the brink of another World Series appearance.

Manager Dave Roberts praised his relievers after the game:

“They know that I’ve never lost faith in them, and they never lost confidence in each other,” said Roberts. “We’re doing a great job of preventing runs, and the bullpen deserves a lot of credit.”

Dodgers One Win Away

With the 3–1 victory, the Dodgers now hold a commanding 3–0 NLCS lead over the Brewers — just one win away from returning to the World Series to defend their title.

As the postseason momentum builds, Los Angeles continues to showcase the balance of dominant pitching, timely hitting, and resilience that defines a championship team.
